It seems like no time ago since we were writing the editorial for the June edition! Now the summer is over and we are here in ‘full swing’ and back to our monthly Latest News updates again. The break we took though has us all rested, rejuvinated and ‘raring’ to go! ‘Being’ instead of ‘Doing’ for a month got our creative juices flowing again and we have lots of new group work and games that will give staff, students/trainees and sports people just what they need to highlight the positivity and possibilities in their lives.
The beginning of July had us busy working with 3 main groups in particular that were so different – one hotel, one training provider for young people & RNIB. The Positive Parties workshops worked its magic on them and we got fantastic feedback from all 3 and even a beautiful thank you card arrived at PPHQ from RNIB.
One of our Positive Parties was in The White Horse Hotel, Derry – Londonderry, for the heads of dept and one member of their team. The half day session was full of fun and the team really enjoy it. Here are a few of their comments:
‘I attended the Positive Parties Course on the 3rd July. I really enjoyed it, different to other courses I have done. Learnt allot about self belief and different ways to combat stress and think positive.’ Danielle
‘Denise from Positive Parties was a very good, fun, loving individual she got everyone involved and made everyone comfortable. The information was well delivered and the energy flow was high throughout. I would recommend this training to all companies.’ Mary
‘I really enjoyed Positive Parties; Denise was very good at involving everyone and allowing us to come out of our comfort zones. The information received helped me learn to think positive and allow myself to become more confident. Highly recommended!’ Kathryn
Also, here is the feedback from a satff member (who sat in on the worlskop) from Customized Training Services, where we had fifteen 16 -20 year olds who had been on the programme all year.
‘After 3 hours of exercises, group work & positive games, C.T.S asked the trainees to carry out an evaluation form to allow us to ascertain how valuable/enjoyable they thought the Positive Party was. The feedback received from this was encouraging and it was apparent that all trainees took something ‘positive’ away with them.’ Lauren McCormack, Customized Training Services
So all good news in relation to our feedback and we are looking forward to what this new academic year brings in relation to more post primary schools, colleges and training providers becoming involved in our programmes as well as primary schools benefiting from our ‘Go For It’ Positive Party for P7’s which we piloted last year and was a great success.
We travel South this week to St Wolstan’s Community College, Newbridge, where we will be delivering 3 Positive Parties in one day to Transition Year students, we return in two weeks time for more Positive Parties workshops in the same school for the same pupils in Co. Kildare.
We are talking at the minute with two local Councils about Positive Parties being involved in their winter programme for health & fitness. This is a very exciting venture for us and we will keep you posted when the details have been finalised.
As always we have repeat business from Sure Start for staff, Action For Children for young people etc and Derry Healthy Cites are promoting us in their Foyle Health @Work newsletter again this quarter.
We have Cancer Connect booking us for a first time but we are no strangers to Enniskillen and we are hoping to do an interview on the local radio station to promote Positive Parties before the event.
So as autumn begins, don’t forget when planning staff training/student workshops/motivational talks with a difference……. may we be the first you contact. Send email to firstname.lastname@example.org or phone PPHQ on 0044 2881659505 mobile 0044 7790793130
