The excitement this month is that Positive Parties have been nominated for the Strabane Business Awards on the 15th Oct in 2 categories – Best New Business AND Excellence In Innovation. We are delighted and are sending out positive vibes for a positive result. Founder, Denise Devlin, met with Kevin & Abby Mullan from Expert Recruitment (one of official sponsors) on Monday 10th Oct in Positive Parties HQ. They had a look around, a cup of tea and gathered the relevant information to hand over to the judges. They loved Denise’s passion and vision for Positive Parties and said they could see her on Dragon’s Den! Maybe that is next!!
In preparing for the business meeting with Kevin & Abby it gave us a chance to look at what Positive Parties has done so far and in particular its innovation and potential. Commitment – we are 100% passionate about the business and what it stands for ‘providing enjoyable workshops, training & coaching in a unique learning environment, concentrating on music, fun, games, tools & techniques to enhance positive thinking and a joyful attitude to life.’ Originality – its reaches that gap in the market for positive mental health as it tackles it is a fun and entertaining way that has never been done before. Plus the brand is strong and the business is scalable. The impact Positive Parties has is that it is new, exciting, people are talking about it and it can be delivered to 3 separate markets. Practically – it’s simple to deliver, portable, transferable, and versatile and can be delivered by qualified Life Coaches & NLP Practitioners. Measurably – Tangible- companies can rate absenteeism and productivity. Intangible, are the good feeling its gives to individuals who participate from The Pink Ladies, students, young parents to business people & staff teams etc. The Development Process – PP is only coming up to its first year and yet so much has been achieved and the profile has been raised. This time 2 years ago it was still only an idea in Denise Devlin’s heart and head. Applicability– Positive Parties has started local but it has national and global potential with products such as book, apps etc as well.
In relation to inspiration from other successful business’s Denise feels it is important to constantly learn from others and she did that yesterday at the Female Entrepreneur Conference in Burt, Co. Donegal. There were great speakers on local (Karen Kerrigan & Geraldine Burke) and national & global (Suzanne Brown) levels. The main speaker was Moya Doherty, Donegal born entrepreneur and the producer and co-founder of Riverdance, director of Tyrone Productions & founding director of the radio station Today FM. Moya’s ‘The Business of Hope’ speech was amazing. She talked of her journey, its successes, its challenges, the lessons but always the hope. She is model of excellence in entrepreneurship, authenticity and beautiful energy.
So here’s hoping for Positive Parties on Saturday night. ‘If you are not in you can’t win,’ but to be nominated is fantastic anyway, so we are well pleased regardless.
